SD Hatch

Covered a ton of ground in the last two weeks and there are pheasants from one end of the State to the other.
I rest my case on the wet Spring thing lol

I was in that area the last two weeks with quail for dog trainers and there are tons of birds. Hail they have had was light and the birds are old enough now to handle some.
Bring the dogs as the only problem for those without is a ton of cover .

How are things in North Dakota and I think you folks may have had even more moisture then we have. I know the last few years you have had really great pheasant hunting up there and kind of a little known secret.

As far as the North Dakota hatch goes, there has been no official observations yet from the Game & Fish Dept. We are nearly 7" over the normal for moisture this year. which is alot for SW ND. Had another major hailstorm last week again in the Hettinger-Mott area. In my yard, most of my lilacs and bushes have drowned from weeks of standing water. On the up side, I have been starting to see family broods. Have seen some roosters that are showing color and some broods that are probably only 2-3 weeks old. Pretty wide range. Hopefully, the old hen's have been having multiple broods. Lot of tall grass this year making it hard to spot them. Does look hopeful for a decent season.
Have a great Day!--tr
