Gun Industry Protection Law Passes!!!

The law protecting the gun industry from ruinous lawsuits passed Congress this evening, and President Bush will sign it.

See this LINK for first details and a voting poll.

Three cheers for the good folks who saw reason and voted for this bill - from both sides of the aisle.

That's good news, although the antis did get the trigger lock amendemnt added to the bill. My Senate rat McCain voted for the locks I do wish he's come out of the closet and admit he's a democrat!

Shares of Smith & Wesson almost doubled today and shares of Ruger went up over 10%. I could not believe how many investors out there know about what is going on in the gun industry.

Personally, I am glad to see this bill get passed, even if it comes with mandatory locks because Maryland already requires mandatory gun locks. At first, Maryland was going to try to have a smart lock in the gun, but that turned out to be a disaster. Hence, certain approved gun locks must be sold with the handgun in Maryland.

Good, prudent legislation. It's about time some reason and common sense was shown up on the Hill.

I was in South Dakota all week, and the selection of news channels (radio and tv) there is just pathetic, but I did observe one curious thing: there was almost no news coverage of the bill's passage.

Had it been a gun-control law, we'd have seen it trumpetted three times an hour on every channel.

Kinda lets you know where the media stands, huh? Proof positive, I'd say.

Im all for the law, of course. But what was about as good as the law itself was it almost gave Teddy Kennedy a heart attack. One of these days, maybe we will get lucky. LMAO

Andy

I also noticed Feinstein didnt vote. Chickenpoop. She never does if its going to lose. Might damage her record.
