Anyone else have problems pumping gas last night?
Last night after a quick run to a local gunshop
![]() Decided to pay inside instead of at the pump. The pumps wouldn't work correctly. They'd go off-line, then incorrectly reset and then finally my pump started to work. Took about 10 minutes for this condition to clear. Turns out, there was a run on fuel across the nation in anticipation of the spike in gas prices from the disaster down south. Somehow this station is tied into a national network via satellite and there were pump disruptions in other states. Ended up paying with cash and not the Cabela's card. Stuff like that makes you think about our reliance on plastic whether it's a debit or credit card. If "the system" goes down, you're SOL on paying for daily needs or bills. It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Keep your powder dry... Allen

Yea Skinny, you ain't lyin. That is somethin' -- I didn't know they were that well connected. Anyway, always gotta keep some cold hard in your pocket nowadays. Never know when the 'puter' is down and you're SOL.
I couldn't get any gas either, was in a small town, one pump station, pulled in and the pump was just plain gone. Got down the road aways and found out why . . . ![]() |

No problems gettting fuel last night, though the price gouging going on now is bad... I have heard in the Alanta area some stations were charging $6-$7/gal yesterday.
Up here the gas has gone up again, and another $0.20/litre to around $1.209/litre or more in some areas. This might slow down some of my hunting this fall.
