Wrong does not mean stupid. I am wrong about stuff EVERY day. I keep trying to do more right than wrong.

If my statement about being wrong offended... I apologize. That was NOT the intention.

Disagreement does not implicate animosity on my part. Some of my favorite people on this earth are liberals. I think they are wrong. But I still like, love and appreciate them.

No offense intended Tide.

"Under God"...

I'll shed a little light on this. Personally, I am a Christian and proud of it. So were a good majority of this country's founding fathers. The reason that we have 'In God We Trust', 'Under God', the Ten Commandments in US courthouses etc, is that this nation was founded on the simple precept that man was always accountable to a higher power=God in whatever flavor (ie-religion) that you subscribe. It in no way endorses any one religion.

In this age of no accountability whereby no one wants to be accountable to anyone for anything it frankly doesn't surprise me.

Interesting to note, our framers vehemently believed that this 'experiment' that is the United States of America would only last as long as a Republic as long as the citizens recognized that they were accountable to something larger than just themselves.

I like the fact that we adhere to Judeo-Christian morals. I like 4 or 5 of the ten commandments.

My only issues with the "Under God" part of the Pledge of Allegiance is:

1. It wasn't added until 51 years ago... so it's not like striking it is altering it from it's original form. It's actually restoring it's authenticity.

2. It is sort of exclusionary to the other religions. Me.... I don't really care. The pledge did it's job indoctrinating me to American Patriotism. I bleed Red, White and Blue. I'd sure like to have all the peaceful people of other faiths loving this country and fighting for her as hard as I do.

I think we have an overall fracturing of America. For what reason I am not smart enough to know. Maybe it's that for many years Christians were an overwhelming majority, and others had to lay low and conform to survive, and today, the overwhelming majority no longer exists.

I think it MAY be in our best interest to try to be inclusive rather than exclusive.

That said... I think immigrants should learn english. I think ILLEGAL immigrants should go home.

What is great about this country is that we have the right to disagree.

jabba...about the english thing..agree 100% with that..with the phone now a days..it states if you want to speak in english, press 1....????.. why wouldn't you have to press 1, 2, 3 or 4 to speak in another language?..I had to learn other languages when abroad...and as Jay Leno said last night...everytime they send the illegals home, a storm comes along and blows them back....a little humor there...I say to each his own in life and beliefs...just don't preach to me my way is wrong as I don't say your way is wrong...life goes on....we just need to get rid of some of the liberals in charge here...their killing this Country from within..

Someone once mentioned one of the reasons "God" is being excluded in many areas of our country is because no-one wants to see the towel heads demanding to get down on their dirty little rugs all day long and pray. Not my words just quoting...
