Here's a closer view of the truck..the mud grips will stay..along with that big ole steel bumper..then I could REALLY go huntin lol...got a spot fer a winch on it too. The truck bed will be replaced. The motor probaly wont come out at paintin time..I aint too awful worried bout the firewall paint cause it's perfect really..I aint that picky.
I got more picky with the motor than I will with anything else on the truck. Tool box will be replaced w/ the big diamond plate one I got in my Chevy now.

lilred

back in my days we had a saying, "when they run, there done". lots of street rods never seen a custom paint job. there were lots of cars running around dayton with gray or red primer "paint jobs". after the motor the next thing to get accomplished was the interior. rolled and pleated upholstery was the fashon of the day.

the next thing was frenching the headlights and taillights and then the grill got changed.

that'll be a nice set of wheels when ya get it done.

Yessir that is rubicon..I'll git a new winch when the truck is done..and I'm repaintin that bumper black..it just needs touchin up.

I fergot to mention the interior..that'll git done fore the paintin. I wanted a split bench seat..cause my poor hubby's knees'll be in the windshield as far up as I gotta put my seat..but I caint seem to find one. Still lookin tho..new door panels and headliner fer sure..and new upholstery fer whichever kind of seat I wind up with.
And heyalll naww Sonny..my Chevy aint sittin on no wayside by no means..what time it does wind up sittin, it will be worked on..fixin lil odds & ends..like it needs a new grill...etc.
I gotta work tomorrow..but hopefully a lil progress will be made this weekend...as long as I can stay away from the river..which aint easy not goin fishin on yer days off...lol

It was comin along great..until we noticed all the wirin issues under the dash. Cut wires, bare wires, unplugged wires just cause the relays went bad..that kinda stupid stuff. Been werkin on all that fer the past 2 months. Cut/bare/rotten wires comin outta the bulkhead connector was time consumin too. It was a mess..to say the least. That's all done now w/ the exception of the heat/vent/floor vacuum lines. Seems like it'll never git finished...guess I'll have to wait till spring to paint it.
Yep...it will git put on hold fer huntin season..which really kinda sucks...but oh well...i'm huntin dernit! lol

I hate wiring issues. I had a simple issue with window motor wiring in the Taurus, but I thought it was a bad motor. So, I ordered the driver's side motor. Then I had a problem with the passenger side motor a week later. So, I ordered that one too.

When I finally got around to installing the new motors, the first one I put in didn't work which lead me to the switches. Took both the driver side and passenger side switches out, cleaned them up, and everything worked fine. That took almost an entire day.

I could not imagine dealing with the wiring issues that you are having in that truck.
