Drying fruit

I want to dry some fruit in my dehydrator and was looking for some tips. I know, with apples and pears, they need to be soaked in lemon juice to keep them from turning brown, but what about other fruits? I want to do others fruits to take hunting and camping and maybe mix in with some trail mix. Thanks.

Any fruit that is not acidic needs to be treated with either citric acid or sulpher. This will not preserve color; but will preserve the fruit. Visit your local County extension agent or VOAG representative via the internet for the very best fruit preservation techniques, recipes, and availablity of supplies.
