Not trying to deter your choice of rifle, but I ought to let you know that my wife and I have a 597 in 22LR.
The thing has been nothing but a total nightmare from the start.\ Feeding problems, ejection problems, mag fouls up really easy..... Found it to be a poor weapon for us and now it only comes out if we need an extra.....
