2006 Projects

Folks,
What are your working on for 2006? I was reading the mail and saw a Midway catalog and they have Adams & Bennett barrels on sale really cheap. I called the local gunsmith and asked if a Mauser Series 3 barrel in .30-06 could be fitted to and rechambered for a .30/40 Krag with a worn barrel. He assured me it would work. He has fitted these Mauser barrels to 1903 Springfields and FN Mausers and they shoot great. I have ordered a .30-06 barrel and it will be here next Wednesday. I really like the Krag action and within its limitations it is a great cartridge. All the best...

Gil,

For 2006, I plan on shooting trap every week. I will shoot in every High power league match. I will shoot more of my iron on establishment. Happy New Year.

Adam

2006 Project

The brown truck brought the .30-06 Mauser barrel yesterday and at 6:00 P.M. the Krag and new barrel were dropped off at the local gunsmith shop. Now the waiting begins. All the best...

sound slike a plan Gil, and i _know_ she's going to be sweet.

if there is a smoother action out of the box than a krag, (without major work done to it first Ie custom shop) I am not aware of it.
