Frank, Ill try to answer this as best I can. I live in PA and we have a couple of different seasons here. In our early Antlerless season, most every front stuffer is legal to use if of sufficient caliber and barrel length. First off, it has to be a long gun, no hand guns. Second, it has be a caliber big enough to do the job. PA won't allow a 36 cal for deer. Scopes are allowed! Early season out of the way, we also have a late front stuffer season, that being after the regular deer season closes. The late season is for "flint lock" systems only. No scopes, no peep sights, no red dots, just primitive type sights only. Ignition system must be flint on steel, and that season is also limited to the bigger bore sizes, not the 36 cal models. You almost have to get ahold of the game regs for the state that you want to hunt before you purchase your front stuffer. Modern in-lines are darn near sure fire ignition systems that need to be front stuffed. Flinters are a tad different. There is a "learning" period with the flint lock ignition system, so if your state has a flint lock ignition only law, start practicing asap. Hope this helps answer your Q. Bill.............
