Boy gets First Elk!
Well it took a little while but he got one.
Take a look she had to be the biggest cow in the herd. I was hoping he would shoot a calf. To say he was happy is the understatement of the year. Just 3 days earlier we had hiked 5 miles up a canyon, in the sleet to get a 350 yard shot that he misjudged and shot low as they went over the ridge. He looked at me and said, "I missed? How could I miss a 250 yard shot?" I said, "try 350 and that is how you missed. Enough said. Lets head back to the truck." Kirkned Last edited by Kirkned; 01-27-2006 at 11:21 PM. |

congrats to your son.i shared that same expierience 21 years ago with my father,and hope to do it again next year with my 11 year old son.
