LB454 Passed

LB454 passed in Nebraska allowing carry of concealed weapons. Although it won't take effect until January 1, 2007.
One problem thus far is major cities like Omaha have a ban in place that so far overrides this bill and cities like Lincoln are looking to ban it as well.
The senator that helped put this bill into place Senator Jeanne Combs will be working on that for the next year.
Well its a start.

It kills me. Kind of like how handguns have been banned in the District of Columbia for years on end. Probably over a decade now. However, during that time period, DC was known as the murder capital of the world/nation. Sure, take all the guns away from the law abiding people and the criminals will have it pretty easy when it comes to shooting law abiding people.

It’s stupid for people to think that loosening handgun restrictions will raise crime. The fact is loose CCW restrictions reduce violent crime. Every state that introduces "right to carry" laws has liberals crying how it will be like "the wild west" there. I haven’t noticed anyone engaging in handgun duels yet.
