If I ever find a way to truly sharpen serrated blades, I would favor them. When it is sharp, a serrated edge is astonishing at times.
But so far, either I'm too stupid, or I don't have the proper tools to sharpen a serrated edge properly. So all my useful knives are straight edged. |

Depends what the knife is for. A serrated blade cuts bread best and up thru the rib cage in big game animals better also.
One of the best knives that I have had the pleasure of using is a double bladed flolder by Coleman. This knife has done a lot of work over the years as I seem to be the one who gets to gut them out and help drag them out. |

I prefere to use straight edge myself, but there ain't nothing wrong with a knife like the one in Mikes picture, nor a half straight half serrated.

I like a straight blade because I can sharpen it. Once the serrated edge is gone it's a bear to get it back.
Good hunting! TJ

I prefer a straight over a serrated, especially if I slip and cut my finger, seems a straight cut heals quicker than a jagged cut
I've just been around straight blades all my life, except for the past few years, I prefer the straight because they are easier to sharpen and maintain. |
