Hey everyone

Hey all. I found this place last night, so I decided to join up. I'm a hunter from South Carolina.

Actually, I'm a college student. I go to Covenant College, located ontop of Lookout Mountain, GA (right outside of Chattanooga, TN). Of course I'm on summer break right now.

I am mainly a quail hunter. We (my dad) own a Brittany. We also just bought a Setter pup earlier this spring. She (the setter) is already showing great instincts, and has been terrific in yard training, so I'm already looking forward to shooting birds over her this fall.

Unfortunately, as many of you know, the SE isn't known for it's bobwhite quail population. So we have to purchase them, as we can't afford to go to plantations. Not to mention I'm now in college, so it's much harder to get a weekend free to go home and do a bit of quail hunting.

This looks like a pretty big community, so I'll be sure to drop in from time to time.

See ya'll around!

- David

Welcome to the board. I also love quail hunting, but there aren't any wild quail in Maryland either. I wonder why the DNR cannot reintroduce them like they have with the resident geese we have.

I have never hunted wild quail, but my dad talks about having done it plenty about 40 years ago. Amazing how quickly things change.

Oh yeah, I'll be looking forward to your posts in the Hunting Dogs forum.

You're not supposed to tell him about MANbeef or you'll scare him away

Not sure if I want to visit the website or not - I think for that site, I'm going to refrain.
