New (to me) Rem 700 BDL Custom Deluxe

For months, this used Remington .30/06 has been hanging on the wall down at the gun shop I hang out at . It is simply beautiful. One little ding (dimple) on the forend, and other than that, its minty. The owner of the shop finally took pity on me, and told me to just take it home. I thought his asking price of $450 was very reasonable. Now I need a scope and sling (Father's Day is tommorrow, hehe)

Good deal!

Nice picture of a classic rifle at an attractive price. I always shop the used gun racks and there are some real bargains out there. All the best...

I always thought the BDL's had sights on them. Mine do. Maybe this one has been altered, like glassed action and floated barrel. That's quite possible and sights removed then. I have several older Remington BDL's from the '80s, and they are things of joy, very accurate. However, my latest one, a BDL in .25-06Rem. purchased last year, is the worse rifle I've ever purchased. I think maybe Remington has went too far with the bean counters and cost cutting, and now it's coming back to haunt them. It's really sad. They had been excellent for so many years. Just one mans opinion. Best wishes.

Cal, This BDL has sights. The front is a hooded blade, the rear is a fully adjustable factory sight, sitting halfway between the front scope base and the forearm tip.
Break out the glasses.

Cal,
I picked up a new .30/06 CDL in April. It is one of the nicest factory rifles I've bought. The bedding is clean and well done, the metal and stock finishes are good. The only thing wrong was , of course, the trigger pull. I sent the trigger to triggersmith to have the pull adjusted to 2.5 #'s. Inspite of the heavy trigger it shot under an inch at one hundred yards. So, I took it to Namibia and took four animals with four shots.

8x56 MS,
It looks like you got a good deal. There a number of add ons for700's if you want to improve performance. Beside triggers there a speed locks, bolt handles;etc.

Hello 8X56MS,

Many pardons. I didn't even notice the front sight. A thousand mea culpas. Best wishes.
