Well, I suppose we could make a blind recommendation...

But it really depends on what the gun will be used for. Inside 200 yards or beyond? Tiny critters, targets or coyotes?

Otherwise it's like asking if I should use a 7-iron or a 3 wood with no further info (sorry, I just finished a round of golf).

Ok.........I have both.......wouldn't have it any other way. The .221 is accurate, cheap to load and ranks right up there on the "fun factor chart". The .204 has the accuracy and distance for longer range.

If I were stuck with just one choice and didn't handload, the .204 wins my vote.
Like Rocky says ....depends on what you are doing and how far.

I'd get the 204. One hot shooter, flat shooting and accurate. Great for longer ranges, too.

For long range poping of small critters I would recomand a CZ 527 in .204 and Serria 32 gn. bullets. I bought one of these alittle over 1 year ago and it was the best out of the box gun I`ve ever owned.

Seems to me that the 204 Ruger is going to do the same things you'd use the 22-250 for.
For that reason, I'd lean towards the 221 Fireball as filling a slot between your 22 Hornet and your 22-250.

Just got a Remington 204 and love the ballistics.I am in the middle of load development with the 204 and had to stop in the middle as I moved to Idaho as my loading bench is still packed away.I had the groups down to 3/4" at 100 yds with seating and primer changes as my next step to finalizing the load with Sierra 39 gr. behind H4895 at 3893 fps,It should be a whacker on both rock chuck and coyote!
