Thanks to all of the hunters!
I just wanted to say a big THANKS! to all of the Michigan hunters/sportsman who helped vote Our Wonderful Democratic buddies back in to office!
I'm sure that they will keep the best interests of all of us in mind, when the start drafting the new gun control laws they have been touting for the past few years. But don't worry! it's not like they would EVER come after Your guns. And a great big Thank You! to all of the hunters & sportsman who also helped the Humane society get their "Foot in the door" with the ban on Dove hunting! With your help, they should be pushing for further bans on all types of hunting any time now! GREAT WORK! "But wait, Tall Shadow! I'm not the one who did this!" You are saying.......Well, if you didn't vote, or voted for the People who have openly stated exactly what their intentions were/are.......Well..... Then, Yes, it Was you...and you might just as well as turned in your guns/bows Tuesday! Tall Shadow |

Amen TS!
I am shocked with all the so-called sportsman in this state that the dove bill went down so bad. I think it amounts to way too much of "I don't hunt doves, so it doesn't effect me" attitude. And don't get me started on re-electing that dingbat Granholm! |

I even voted for the dove hunt, and I'm not sure I'd ever dove hunt! I just think we should be able to hunt whatever we wish to, as long as it's maintainable, and Doves are easily! The whole Bowhunters -vs- Shotgunners -vs- Rifle hunters -vs- Target shooters -vs- Trappers -vs- whomever... has always baffled the crap out of me. If you don't like a certain type of ->ANY<- sport or hunting activity.....Just don't do it, and leave those of Us who do Alone We will surely be our own downfall. I'm very glad I don't have the address to that other site wrenchman, I don't think I would be too civil about telling them exactly what I thought of them. Tall Shadow |

I feel for you guys in Michigan. If you could discount Detroit, Flint, and Saginaw, I'd imagine voting results would be dramatically different in Michigan.

To some extent yes.
But Tuesday night I was looking at a state wide map by county of how they voted. As far as the governor's race, the democrat won every single county in the Upper Penninsula! Nothing against any members from here, but after seeing that, I have no problem with them becoming their own state!!! |

I think we are seeing the influence of Minnesota/Wisconsin liberal attitudes in Our Northern Brother's decisions. I have been really torn between staying here in Michigan, with it's outdoor beauty, wildlife, and growing over abundance of liberals & wackos....Or moving to a more Conservative state. I'm leaning more, and more to a move. I've been hearing allot about the push for a separation of "Red" and "Blue" minded folks/states.....It might just be coming to that. I know where I'd stand. Yes, very disheartening. I checked out the NRAILA site and grading to keep up to date and voted pro-gun, hunting, etc. After I seen what happened to the dove bill I'm ashamed I'm from MI, and have second thoughts about going back there!! Terrible. Hard to believe that the populous metro area can decide issues affecting the whole state. That's not right and I don't know the answer, makes me sick, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Well, I think all of us feel the same way about the dove vote. What really ticks me off, is that we (the hunters/sportsmen) would easily outnumber all of the "Metro" areas IF we could/would only get out an vote!
The "It's not something I do!" or the "That only applies to shotgunners/bowhunters/EBR(Evil Black Rifle) shooters/ Etc." Apathetic attitude(s) like this, have all but signaled the "death spiral" of our heritage/sports. Also the, I can think of no other good way to say this, the "Pussifcation" of todays male population. The outright neutering of us and Our chosen interests in society, has all but doomed this once great country, to a VERY uncertain future. We could be the most powerful force in politics, but instead, we are marginalized as just a bunch of hicks/kooks. I'm ashamed at our lack of conviction/motivation in protecting the things we know and love so much. I am truly worried about both Our future, and the future of this country. Tall Shadow |
