Bersa Thunder
Was at the range some time ago and fired a Bersa Thunder 380. After firing some of the rounds it felt like I was getting small bee like stings on my face. Asked the owner about it and he said he hadnt noticed it. He was shooting factory ammo not sure of the specs. I am sure that you all have an explanation for this. thanks looking forward to getting home where my internet connection is a lot faster but at least I can get past the corporate web blocker and get on to ask a question.

I am pretty sure that pistol is a blowback design, meaning the breechblock is not locked. The mass of the breech/slide and the force of the recoil spring keep the breech closed until most of the pressure in the bore drops. Then the slide opens to extract the empty case. But not all the pressure has dropped, so there is always some gas that escapes when the empty case comes out of the barrel.
What you were feeling was likely ash and unburnt powder kernels propelled by that released gas.

Yup, pretty sure that pistol is a blowback type (almost all 380's are ) , and Rocky's hit it on the head.
