They seem to come in waves for me, too. None for a few weeks and then tons of them.
Ditto the warning (NEVER click on an email link) with emails from PayPal, any bank or any other place where you might or might not be a member. NONE of those legitimate places will ask you for confirmation of anything like PIN numbers, account numbers or such. EVER. Even clicking on the link can be disastrous. Many of them automatically download trojans, spyware, viruses, worms or other malicious stuff instantly. They can even take control over your computer!
