Thumbs up Remington 673

Does anyone have any experience with the Remington 673 or the .350 remington magnum cartridge?

What is your thoughts and opinions. What is the largest game you would use it against? Would you take it to Africa??

Opinions Please....

Plains game, elk, moose, anything you would use a 35 Whelen on.
I don`t own one but looking at the ballistics, and from what I`ve read, it should be a great cartridge for anything up to and maybe including the big bears.

I own one and I love it. It is lightweight, handles well and is great for elk and most anything in North America (although some might question brown bear). It is also very accurate - I have a target w/ 3 out of 3 rounds within about 2.5" at 200 yds.
I reload and my favorite load for elk is 250 gr Swift A-Frame wh/ travels at over 2500 fps muzzle velocity.
I put a new trigger on mine (Timney, I think) but I understand that you can adjust the factory trigger. I mounted a Leupold VX-III 2.5 - 8.0x scope on it.
Now, after all that, I have to admit I haven't shot anything with it yet. I have it in the field a couple of times, but no joy. Hope to get a monster bull elk w/ it this fall!

BTW, what sold me on it was reading Col Jeff Cooper's opinions (he shot his only lion w/ a .350 RM) and Chuck Hawks (www.chuckhawks.com).

Happy hunting and good luck w/ it.

mike
