Went Out Early

Hunting season being less than 90 days away, I went over to the range early this morning. Ole 06 n 270 both shot same as last
year! It was cool and I was there at first light.......kinda nice at that hour. Now, the wait till seasons start.

Dan,

With hunting season 90 days away, don't stop now, keep banging away! Also, put some fresh batteries in that digital camera as we are looking foward to seeing your photos. Good luck.

What Dan? 90 days away? Ya, I know, I appreciate where I am, hunt 365 days a year. Been pretty good so far, 4 bucks and a Sau. There really is not much of an 'off' season, tho it would be March thru April. I also do a competetive shooting circuit, so seems like I got no time to lounge around. It is nice at that hour too, I was in the seat at 0430 this morning, couldn't draw the buck out of the cornfield, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

I wasn't at the bench THAT early...LOL.0645.Had the range to myself.Found a box of Sierra 140grhp in my stuff and had loaded a few......dang, at 100yds, I had a 10 shot 5/8 group.....think I'll
hunt with the 270 this year...as I only drew deer......take the 06 for backup....unless I buy OC elk tag.Don't go over as much as I used to....as son has discovered girls n work.....looses something
solo......probably do solo deer hunt also, picky as to who I get in the brush with!

First light, my favorite time of day to be at the range too. I'm not hunting anything with the centerfire rifle this year, so not much bench time for me.

The years I do, I spend an hour or so most Saturday mornings starting in July. It does wonders for your ability and confidence, plus it's fun.

I shoot almost weekly....except when the snow is butt deep at the range.....it's about 20mi west of home and 7300ft. See sheep in the sun and we have to cease fir occasionally for deer between the berms...LOL
