				Russian Model 1938

I stopped in the local gun shop and saw a Russian Model 1938 sitting on the used gun rack. It was mint and matching with a perfect bore. The shop owner and I haggled a bit and it sold for $95.00. He thought it was a Model 1944. I pointed out it was a Model 1938. All the best...

I don't remember if I posted this or not but I had a similar experience at a gun show a year or two ago. The guy had the Mosins stacked at his table like cord wood and a lot of them were the M44s with the Bayonets on them and then there was also a longer version I believe it was the 91/30 and there were also the M38 without the Bayonets or the bayonet lugs I didn't know the difference but they were all priced the same and since I liked the shorter carbine and really had no use for the Bayonet I bought the M38. He had them clearance for I think it was $110 and I talked him down to $99 out the door if I remember correctly. I later found out that the M38's are normally a bit more expensive than that and that I got a pretty good deal just pure dumb luck on myside that day |
