The fx3 is junk! The remote never works like it needs to and the sounds are very lame.
Go for the Bandit. I own both!!! |

I got one of the original Fox Pros and it works very good. That is out west, I had no problem calling in coyotes in Idaho, but back here in Oh. I guess they are alway full when I call them.

lonedog and kimberguy, welcome to Huntchat.
My FX3 coupled with the jack in the box works great and the remote hasn't been a problem. The Bandit and Sidewinder look like a great combo too. Have you seen this site: http://www.allpredatorcalls.com/ Here are some links with info: http://www.predatormastersforums.com...e#Post52617637 http://www.predatormastersforums.com...age=0#52171346 http://www.predatormastersforums.com...gonew=1#UNREAD http://www.predatormastersforums.com...age=0#52172599 Kimberguy, have you contacted FoxPro about the remote? service@gofoxpro.com

Thanks for the welcome!!!
I have read on alot of forums that the foxpro unit is full of problems with the remotes and software. The Bandit is my go to caller so contacting them is not at the top of my list. I know I know, but when something is sposed to work, it should!!! I bought the foxpro when I didn't know any better, now that I know more, the Bandit is it. www.minaskaoutdoors.com |

I actually used to work for the company that manufactured the electronics in the Fox pro. (IT dept) Wouldn't doubt the issues with problems and OBF (out of box failures).
Company is growing beyond it's means, and was a good time for me to get out. Can't make too many customers mad, or their customer's customer in this case, before you start to lose business! Just classic example of take all orders you can get and don't worry about the rest. I think our on time deliveries in the 5 1/2 years I worked there went from 90% to below 50% for some major customers....just pitiful management decisions as far as I was concerned! (looking from the 30,000' level of course) Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. The electronics are what are failing....and that's probably one of the reasons why

ya I don't doubt it! everyone raves about foxpro's customer service. But when you have so many return for service, you kind of get good at it I would suspect.
I was told by someone close to the Dillons (foxpro) that the upgrade on the fx3 to make it a fx5 is seriously just a flick of a switch. But they charge all kinds of $$ to do it. The spend more than 6 figures on advertising and rant and rave all over hunting boards to make some boards a foxpro friendly place, that way the competition doesn't have an edge. They know if they keep their mouths shut and don't stroke certain people, they would never stand a chance. There are some BIG things coming down the road from one of their competitors and trust me, they will feel the effects. Some of their field staff are some of the most back woods, ignorant people they can find. Easily fooled I guess. Sorry for the rant, but as I see it, there are much better people and products to deal with. Ever notice how their product are NEVER field tested in their home state? I guess it's best to test in a predator rich place where it is hard NOT to shoot something! |
