Model 38 Arisaka

I have just acquired a Mod 38 Arisaka . RE-chambered to 6.5 x 55 and forged bolt for scope mounting.
Need suggestions and /or advice on changing safety for scope mounting as is doesn't work with scope mounted.
Thanks for any help.

This does not look like saving your bacon right now, but this is the only road outa town:

Bout the only thing that can be done is to put a trigger with a safety in the gun.

You might consider a 96 or 38 Swede before you get too deep into the Jap gun.

Thanks for the info on Timney. I thought they had discontinued Arisaka trigger.

I had intended to re-stock rifle anyway,so adding this trigger will not be a problem.
