This isn’t funny . The biggest reloading suppliers in the state of Arizona, Dillons and Randalls are out of bulk .223 bullets, and have been for a long time. (I’m on the list)

I went to find Winchester primers, Sportsmans Warehouse and Dillons are out and have been. I found 1 box of 1000 primers for 39.99 at BasePro Shop “OUCH should be less than $25”

I found H4895 powder only at the Sportsmans Warehouse. They had 11 pound I took the 8 pound container.

This is getting silly for any serious reloaders.

Are getting hard to find. I just bought a load of bullets from a guy and paid a buck a pound for them delivered. Lots of bulk .224 bullets and a bunch of bullets for handguns. Also got a lot of lead ingots for the discerning bullet molder. Who Me??

Glad to know I'm not the only one having trouble finding bullets. I'm leaving for a hog hunt in Texas next week and I simply do not have a loaded round for my rifle.
The local shop where I buy much of my stuff is out. A couple online retailers were "backordered."
I found one place that had the right bullet and had to pay extra for faster delivery.

I read an artical not too long ago that said we would run into a supply problem with the .223 Brass due to Iraq??

As I've written before, it's the war and Bill Clinton. Willie closed all the government ammo plants but one, then slashed the budget so much that the military couldn't replace its stockpiles. When they ran out, they had to order from commercial makers, and the order was so huge (billions of rounds) that every supplier and every factory was working 24/365 - and that left no capacity for us.

I asked every reloading company at SHOT about it, and the unanimous answer was that the deep pinch is now past, there are plenty of raw materials and that the civilian supply line is filling again.

The bad news is cost. The world metal market has gone nuts, driving prices up four-fold at times. Copper and lead are hard hit - due largely to nuclear reactors and electric power lines being built like crazy.

At wally world this weekend they had 200 round "cases" of 223 ammo from federal. $79.98 on CLEARANCE. Wow I remember when it was around $6 per 50 for them.

Even 22 shorts have jumped .40 cents a box. Sheesh.

I was in a pistolsmith's shop today and he had some IMR powders at $18.50 a pound. I took all he had. He was low on just about everything. There may be supply and demand at work in the marketplace, or perhaps greed. There is unused capacity in the metal industries and they seem to like higher prices. I would, too. All the best...

I`m in pertty good shape with bullets right now. I`ve probibly got 1,200 rounds of .223 loaded and have 4,000 varmint bullets to load for the AR. I`ve only got around 2,000 enpty brass though. I`m some where between 18 and 22 lbs. of powder for the small rounds. That not counting .222, .22-250, .22 PPC, .22-6mm, .204, .17 Rem, .17 AH, 243 or .257 AI. I`m pretty well covered for varmint shooting for a while.

I got plenty of bullets for them wascally wabbits myself. Now I'm starting to load shotgun stuff. Need to load 3 or 4 thousand 410's and about the same 20 ga. Gettin so I hate to load all them shotgun shells I found an 8lb H322 I had forgot abouit too. With plenty of bullets I could probably load enuff to supply a regiment

All reloading components here in Southeast Missouri are in short supply and getting more expensive every day.

Skeet, those shotgun loads are going to be pricey!!!

Lead shot in all the local stores is $55.00 per bag and expected to be higher when the next shipment arrives.

Win 75.. I just bought 2 tons of shot for 20 bucks a bag. Sold half to pay for the rest..or almost so and have enough to load for the next couple or 3 yrs. But the price of lead has dropped a lot lately. With the economy going downhill a bit the only thing keeping the price of stuff so high is the demand from places like China and the 3rd world countries. Peru was making lots of money from the sale of lead. I also remember when the price of lead went to 20 bucks a bag back in the late 70's early 80's. Somebody was using it in great quantities in nuclear projects. Personally I think the price on most metals will come down in a year or so. The prices that we are seeing now are somewhat inflated beyond the actual intrinsic values. Some things will not come down significantly though. If you need to get rid of a bunch of werewolves and need to make silver bullets...well you're just gonna have to pony up to buy that silver...gold too. Maybe even copper.
