The best way to solve your problem is tell you to get in touch with a group of people who attend rendezvous.

These are old time camp outs performed by folks who wear Buckskins and shoot Black powder.

They keep things as antique as possible and live like the original settlers.

I have had a knife made to my specifications handcrafted by a fellow down Arkansas way by the name of Billy Watson. He makes beautiful Tomahawks and some of the most beautiful Damascus Steel knives I have ever seen.

I know he attends rendezvous in the Indiana, Missouri and Illinois area as a vendor.

Fact is you may be able to get in touch with a group in your area that do rendezvous and have your scouts camp with them. It may or may not get the kids hooked on this type activity. It's like Chicken Soup, couldn't hurt to ask.

I'd almost bet the rendezvous folks would love the exposure to their "game" and show the younger folks how things were back in the day of the "Corp of Discovery" Lewis and Clark days.
