While I also would HIGHLY recommend something in a caliber starting in .4x, I wouldn't bet my life (or anyone else's) on any clothing stopping a 9mm....short of a ballistic vest.
 (For a good bit of "real World" testing, look up "The Box-O-Truth" website...you will be very glad you did.) I would go with whatever you feel most comfortable with/have the most training, and Practice! with. Tall Shadow
