Lota corn fields look like rice paddies yet. List of closed roads getting smaller day by day and yet we could use a gentle half inch of rain. As Nulle said everyone have a Happy and Safe 4th.

The old saw about corn being knee high by the 4th of July is about right..here anyway. We also have a bumper crop of pheasants. Lots of cover for 'em Not much CRP here for certain. Farmers been cutting hay. Some of the alfalfa is almost waist high.Still a little snow in the Pryors but melting fast. De ribbahs be fulla water. An here comes another shower. Reminds of '63 up here. Thats 1963 smarty pants.

It rained every few days, no gully washers, just nice rainfalls.

Had a bumper crop that year.

In October I got to go play in the Southeast Asia War Games. What a gleeful time we had.

Best wishes, Bill

Well we've sure had enough.
Lots of folks lost everything.
The Mississippi will finally go below flood stage in all of Iowa this week.
Thousands of acres will produce nothing but weeds this year.
Been a tough year what with gas prices going over the top too.
Gonna be a different country when this all gets settled I'm afraid.
best of luck
have a safe 4th

I drove I-90 from the MN border to Rapid City, then down to Custer a couple weeks ago. The entire state looked green, little too wet around the James River valley, but I've seen the state so dry you could see a jack rabbit run through a wheat field and I like green better.
