More yard sale finds

I need some info on a knife I picked up at a yard sale this weekend. In the box new ..it is a Buck Custom knife. The letter with it says that this letter is to verify a custom 120 General.... blah blah blah..stamped Buck Custom USA serial number 0096..brass guard, handle is made of Bacote a South American hardwood. Letter is dated 1990 and signed by Charles T Buck. Anybody know anything about this knife. It is new unused in box.

Also picked up a Stoney Point monopod for 5 bucks and another gun. Just couldn't stand it. Gonna get rid of this one though.

Remington Model 660 in the neat 6 MM cal. Has a 4X Leupold on it. Some scabbard wear. The guy I got it from shot his yearly elk with it. He really did it too as he had pics of him and elk. Got 6 boxes of ammo with it. Kind of an ugly rifle...in my opinion. Squared off forend ...1970's styling. Only made it for 3 yrs.

I love the looks of that rifle. Is it the one with the funnt looking front sight, dog leg bolt and about a 20" barrel?

I shot one that was either a 6,5 or a 350 Rem mag.

It killed at both ends. It felt like it only weighed about 5#.

One other factor that really endeared it was it would clean all the wax out of your ears. Holy crap, that thing had a bark.

But I still liked the looks. Hasn't been anything like it before or since.

Best wishes, Bill

HI Billy

You've got the right gun. Needs a bit more bbl length in 6mm in my opinion....heck in any caliber for that matter. The dogleg bolt is kinda ugly too. Lots of people like the darn things though I shot one of the 350 mag ones years ago. It was kinda brutal

If I remember right, the 660 was the replacement for the 600- 20" instead of 18" barrel, and no plastic ventilated rib?
Still had that upholstery ripper front sight, as I recall.
Handy rifles to tote.

Hey Jack

You be remembering right. I only mentioned this to one fellow here and he knows somebody who wants this rifle. They gonna get it without the scope though. Nice gun but not my cup of tea for certain. I do like the caliber.
