Anybody else play an instrument?

Me I use to play trumpet, bugle, and B-flat Cornet back in high school. Now I am trying to learn to play the mandolin. My wife is trying to learn to play the guitar, she played the violin as a child, but doesn't remember enough about it to do our fiddle any good.

Play an Instrument

Good ol'Boy, I been there, done that. Played bass horn in the high school band and in a couple brass ensembles. Took accordion lessons for about 8 years: a real Lawrence Welk. I enjoyed both and had a lot of fun. But we played real music back then. My mother made all of her children learn to play a musical instrument. Bless her. My two grandsons had a high school band that fell apart when they started college. Oldest plays bass guitar and accoustical. Youngest is the drummer. They had a lot of fun.

Used to play trombone, baritone horn, sousaphone/tuba in high school. Still dabble a little bit with guitar, and played electric bass in a jazz band for 4 years. Still not very good at the guitar, so it'll probably take the next 20 years to get relatively passable.

Good ol boy, I am still trying to master the radio, much less a musical instrument. When i joined the band to play drums, the band director said to me "You're a football player, consintrate on that" gives you an idea of my musical talents. But I do enjoy most kinds of music and envy those who can play an instrument.
