I just picked up Medal of Honor Airborne the other day. The installation went off without a hitch and the first few levels played flawlessly. Now, I'm trying to play Operation Varsity and it's giving me fits. I get through the briefing, through the weapon loadout then the game shuts down and I get the error message below. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game; I've tried the 'Repair' feature; I've even tried changing the weapons loadout to no avail. The previous levels play just fine I just can't get to Op. Varsity or beyond. Anyone else have this problem? Help?

Have seen a similar problem before. Go out to the parent website for the game and download the current update patch and see if that doesn't fix it. If not you may need to uninstall the game, delete the directory, reboot, reinstall the game, THEN run the patch, then play. If you STILL have problems consider upgrading to the current version of directX from microsofts directX site, and updating your video card driver.
good luck GoodOlBoy

It there was a problem with DirectX or the video card driver the first few levels wouldn't play, would they? I'll see if there's a patch on the website but I'm pretty sure the game downloaded a patch and installed it on it's own when I installed the game. "Delete the directory": how do I do this? I know just enough about computers to be really dangerous and I don't want to delete something important. Thanks GOB.

Video driver/directX question. Not ALWAYS true. If they decided to use a special "feature" that was on the cutting edge or beyond when the driver was issued. The "feature" may have only been used on a specific item on a specific level etc etc.
Anyway as for deleteing the directory. Uninstall the game. Reboot the computer (don't just log off go to restart) Go to your "my Computer" icon. Find your C drive (the default hard drive) then find the "Program Files" directory. The install should be inside this directory/folder. Open it by double clicking on "Program Files" Once inside look for the directory with the name that should match the game you want to delete. (Example MOH, Medal of Honor, or the name of the company that produced it. If it IS the company name don't delete the folder instead open it to be sure you don't delete any other games by mistake) Right click on the folder (NEVER EVER DELETE THE PROGRAM FILES FOLDER ITSELF), left click on delete. Reboot again. Reinstall game. Repatch game. If it STILL crashes after all of this then it is probably a known compatability issue between the game and your hardware, OR you have a system problem and need to have your machine reformatted and the OS reinstalled. The problem with the OS reinstall is that half of the people that would do it don't know what they are doing either and will reinstall just as much junk as could be causing the problem now. If you want bring it to Texas and I will fix it for you for the cost of a chicken fried steak dinner ![]() GoodOlBoy

It works
I updated the video card driver and found a couple patches on the MOH website. I got the game running a couple weeks ago but I've been so busy playing the game I forgot to post. Thanks for your help.
