Got my rifle back in time to go hunting.

Just got my 300 RUM back from Corbon Ammo. I sent it there to have a custom load built up for my trip home to Nebraska in 2 weeks. I am shooting 180 gr. Barnes TTSX getting just over 1/2 MOA groups. A lot better than the hornady SST's that I had before. I sure can't wait to go test it out on a big Muley or a really unlucky coyote. Hopefully both. I will give a full report when I get back.

Now let me get this straight! You shipped your gun to some company to get a custom reload worked up for your rifle?? Man, that must of cost a mint! I take it you don't reload? Boy could you have saved a bunch of money if you did!

No not really. They gave me a 25% discount for being in the military. I'm in the Air Force and I am stationed at Hurlburt Field in Florida. Due to the fact i'm in Special Ops and I am gone a lot, I don't get a lot of time to shoot down here. I also live in base housing and don't really have the room to have a bunch of reloading stuff. Hopefully I get promoted this year and can buy my own house which I will have a reloading room in for sure. I also just got back from a deployment a couple months ago and had enough money to pay some bills and have this work done. I was going to buy factory loaded Federal ammo with Barnes bullets, but they don't sell 300 RUM anywhere down here. So until I make rank and can afford to reload myself, I will have it custom loaded. I do however have all the load info if I do want to load it myself, but I would have to find someone who has the stuff to do it. I may do that next time as well.

Election day seems a particularly good time to thank you for your voluntary service to our Nation. Please accept my heartfelt thanks and my hope that your Nebraska hunt meets and exceeds your highest expectations.

Thank you. I sure hope it goes good too. My Dad has been harvesting milow and they are getting ready to pick corn next. It always seems that there is a lot of unpicked corn when I go back for the season and I know there are a lot of deer hiding in it. He said he has seen a lot of pheasants and deer this year. It might be good to get a late season tag. All the crops should be done by then and there will be a lot more deer out and about then too.
