deer season report

well ever since cool weather set in I've been shooting my LR rigs meticulously sighting in and running the charts, had them dialed in well too.

had them dialed in till my groups, if I judged the wind right, were on POA and groups ran 5" at 830 yards.

The spot I decided to glass from in the past has offered shots from 450-770 yards.

well for some reason the deer are hanging just at the edge of the timber, out of 15 legal bucks, the farthest sighting has been 390 yards.

this guy showed up this morning at 7:00

no dialing, no wind compensation, just a straightforeward 307 yard shot, the 160 gr accubond at 3575 fps literaly knocked him off his feet, without so much as a quiver. maybe will have a story to tell from doe season

Nice deer. Congratulations on another bang/flop. That's just a chip shot for the 7mm AM but you have to take them as they show up.

Thumbs up

Good Job! The crew an I are heading to a new spot of mine on company ground, this Saturday. I can shoot almost 300 degrees from this point from 350 out to 1800 yards. I can't wait to try it out!

The first day I was sitting in a tree. Saw 4 legal bucks, but none to my liking. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be my time to shine.

found one today,
ranged a yearling doe at 702 yards, ran the numbers and got set up, sent a nosler, watched the bullet hit POA through the 20X mark 4 she stumbled 20 yards or so as she was going down. took 7.25 MOA to go from a 300 yard zero to 700 with the 7mm Allen.
