PA Flintlock
Got my first one down around 9:00am with a TC Renegade Flinter on the first morning. (Day after Christmas) Nice big ol doe. Got one more tag I plan on filling in the next couple weeks.
Not so "Traditional". My rig is a TC Renegade shooting 95 gr of tripple seven pushing a 240 grain Hornady XTP .44 mag bullet in a .50 cal sabot. Took this picture with my phone, I'm waiting on better pics from big_brother.

Petey,
Thanks for the post and photo. I did not get out today for Flintlock season because I had to go get my FIRST M1898 .30/40 Krag Rifle in MINT condition. I will go afield tomorrow with my flinter. Happy New Year. Adam

No buckskins for this ol boy. She was darn right cold in the morning. Had my Under Armor, goose down vest and two jackets on, plus a neck gator and tossel cap.
The snow was super crunchy, but it worked to our advantage with 3 guys hunting. A day later, it's now pushing 70 degrees and rain! All the snow is gone and it would have been a bad day for BP!

That's a nice looking doe to go along with a nice big ol' smile plastered all over your mug!
![]() My wife got me a Traditions 'Kentucky' model 50 cal. pistol for X-Mas. One of these days, I'd like to pick up a flinty smoke pole to go along with it and definately take it afield for our muzzleloader only season. Well done! |

Thanks,
I always leave at least one tag for this season. Nothing like smacking a deer with the ol flintlock. Kind of a tradition as the deer seasons are winding down. I try to shoot one with each weapon, from bow to long range rifle to smokepole.
