thread size

can any one tell me the size of the thread on the screws that hold the floor plate on a model 70 winchester. i am looking for a screw a little shorter than the longest ones and a little longer than the shortest one. i would have posted this on the gunsmithing site but no one has been there for the last 30 days

Not sure what the thread size is. Ive notice over the years a number of companies offer a box of assorted bolts and screws for firearms. For some reason firearms use anything other than what you can find at HomeDepot.
