Bud, it's been years since I used a rabbit squeal to hunt coyotes, bob cats. Best I remember....try to imitate the cries of a baby......worked for us. I'm sure someone will have a better idea!!!! Good luck!

Just start out calling softly, just to see if anything is close...

if nothing shows up in a couple minutes just start blowing like crazy.. pretend someone is hitting you ove the head with a 2X4... blow for a couple mins, wait a couple, then do it again.

With time you will find what works.

You can also pick up a dvd on coyote calling.. i like the Primos truth ones, it will give you a good idea what they sound like.

Do a google search for varmint Al. He has the sounds of various calls there. I think the URL will work.

Hi Minihuntur, I moved your thread down here to the varminting forum.
When I use a a cottontail screamer I imagine myself caught in the clutches of an Obama presidency and its choking the life outta me. Wait, I'm sorry that might be reality.
What I really meant is imagine yourself being eaten by a predator and how that might make you scream for your life. Then let the sounds die down like its your last breath for a bit and go at it full blast again.

For your practice enjoyment see if blue jays come in to your calls. If they come and check it out you are on the right track.
