God loves me. . . I had a wreck

at approximately 7:40 this morning on highway 21 a saltwater rig pulled to the right hand shoulder. I was behind him. I passed him at 50mph just as he hooked a hard left and crossed both lanes of traffic. I managed to slam on the brakes and com to a complete stop without hitting him. I was under his trailer and he didn't know I was there. I had time to think "Oh thank God." before the impact on the drivers side of the vehicle. His toolbox caught my roof and rolled me up at a 45 degree angle. He pulled me 30 feet off the road pulling the tires off of the drivers side wheels. I was laid on my horn because I knew he couldn't feel me under him. A log truck behind me laid on his horn and the driver heard him and stopped just before I rolled over. Had he finished rolling me his rear wheels would have driven over the front seats of my 2008 chevy cobalt and I would have been killed. My wife was going to come to work with me today to look for a new job. I put her off because I had meetings scheduled all day and we would not have been able to have lunch together. Had she been in the car she would have been in the passenger seat and been killed. I had to crawl feet first out of the drivers window because the door was against the ground and could not be opened.

I walked away with a little microglass shards in me, and no other injuries. The impact was so soft I didn't know he had moved me off the road until I crawled out.

God loves me. He kept me safe in horrible danger, and he kept my wife safe at home.

Praise the Lord God. In Jesus Holy name. Amen.

Wow Richard, that must have been quite a ride. So glad you are safe and were able to walk away from it. I was imagining all kinds of entrapment scenarios as I read your story.
What is a saltwater rig?
Was the driver American or illegal?

Glad you are ok

Scary situation for certain. Lucky you didn't get banged up bad. Sometimes things just happen and it seems like providence. Glad momma was at home. As Allen said..what is a saltwater rig? Did anyone get a ticket??

Now for some of my news. A friend back in Md was responding to a fire call today. Country road. Somehow he lost control of the rig and ran into the woods. He didn't live through the impact. He was approx 38 yrs old..wife and 2 children 13 and 16 I think. He was also I think chief of the volunteer fire dept. About the same age as my daughter...hard to take.

GOB ...count your lucky stars. I am really glad you are ok.. I hope everything is ok down there man.

see attached image of a generic saltwater rig. These trucks carry that tanker loaded with saltwater to oil drilling sites. I don't know why, never been in the oil field industry. This is a newer looking example of what ran over my hairy butt.

My day got better from the moment I rolled down the drivers window, slid feet first out of that ball of aluminum foil, and walked away from it.

Thank God you are all right, and he definately is looking out for you. But with your recent luck, I wouldn't be buying any lottery tickets.

Man, Glad to hear you walked away from that one... Very happy to hear. Things can be replaced, people not so much...

Had a few scary incidents myself - rolled a car, and got run over on a motorcycle in 2 1/2 months. Just as soon as the ribs healed on one side, messed 'em up on the other. Made breathing interesting/painful for about 5 months... And still not sure why I'm still here. Either time, I could very easily have been dead (and between the two, I should have been). Maybe there is a reason why I'm here. And for darn sure, there is a reason why you are here. Live life right -it's now a gift. JMHO
