Could be anything from the shoes to the master cylinder-check it all. Whatever it is it shouldn't be too hard or expensive to fix as long as it's not everything like with my 82 CJ7 I bought a while back. It looked like just a minor leak in the master cylinder that could wait till I got it home-NOT Turns out half the brake system was installed improperly and it cost me almost $400 to fix/replace. If you know your way around the brakes it shouldn't be that bad. Just make sure you look it over real well. Give Jeeps-Offroad a look. There's a wealth of info there. Happy trails.

With one that old it could need a whole new brake system. Check all of the brake line and make sure they are not ready to rust through. Replaceing the line on an old Cammando is not as bad as some, but it will take some time. Also check all of the wheel cylinders for leakes. If the jeep has set there is a better chance you`ll have to replace the wheel cylinders than if it being used.
