2009 Hunting

Another site with no new action. What are we Seniors looking forward to this fall? First I'm going fishing this week with my son. After that getting ready for the bird season and waterfowl hunting. Every year I get to hunt them is a bonus, when I get real old I'll go back to deer hunting.

I have a one year old lab that I am working with right now. I hope to find a few ducks and geese to get her started this fall. I also need to get my 84 year old hunting buddy out goose hunting some also

If the body will hold up well enough I want to see what she will do on pats. I am looking at getting my back fused as the pain is getting to much to bear but that will not be until after waterfowl and deer seasons.

I`m going to start bow hunting deer again. Bought a new bow Sat., first one I ever bought new bow. I`m hopeing to take several deer with it this year. I can take up to 3 deer with and still take 3 more with a gun with out buying a tag, or I could take all 6 with a bow, but I`ll be happy if I can get 2 before gun season. I`ll also been hunting coyotes as soon as the crops start comming off, bean in about 4 weeks and corn in 8 weeks. I sure hope Gene and I do alot better on coyotes this year than we did last.

Well again this year I will do some deer hunting and back in my younger cowboy days I broke a bone in the top of my foot and of course never got it taken care of so now I am having a few problems walking in tough country. This is ok as I will do more bird hunting this year. I have one male English Setter and I just got another Setter female I am training and will be ready to go this Fall. I hope to find some place to hunt down south in Tx or that area for a week this winter.

Don't bird hunt much anymore however the bow's set up, need to double check on my SG and ML. Blind is working well. Most of the honey do jobs are done. Tag's are drawn and my possession, ready, what do you think? Going to Cabela's in a couple of weeks.

Sounds like some of us older hunters are getting prepared for the fall. I wish each and everyone of you a great fall. Keep us advised.

I drew my west river deer tags lost out on the black hills buck but will get a doe tag later.
The bow is ready, black powder is dry and shot gun shells are in the vest.
I hate to see summer come to an end but with it comes the hunting and you just have to love that.

Well looking forward to Doves Sep't 1st. We also have agiant Canada goose season opening then, I just can't get real enthused hunting them if the weather is hot. Now if they were specs it would be different.

Getting new strings and cables on my Mathews Outback, working on some new loads for my Winchester 70 .243 for deer season, put out some new mineral blocks, and have a date with a certain dove field also.

Am leaveing Sunday for a 4 day grouse and woodcock hunt on the border with the U.P. Really looking forward to it, am trying to figure what 2 guns to take, always carrry a spare. Did this hunt last year and had a great ime, more grouse this year. Believe it or not I go on this hunt with two gals that have been friends for close to 30 years. Each has an English Setter too.
