Military deer rifles

My local gunsmith has been working on my sporterized 1909 Mauser and 1903 Springfield rifles for nearly two years. Now they are finished. The 1909 is a .280 Remington and the 1903 is a .270 Winchester. Not sure which one I will take out this year, maybe both during the season. All the best...

Gil,

Do those rifles have scopes? At our age, scopes help count points.

Both rifles have 3-9X scopes. All the best...

My favorite deer rifle is my sporterized '98 Mauser. It probably ended up costing me more than had I just gone to a sporting goods store and bought a new M70 Winchester or M700 Remington. However there is something nice about having a rifle that is somewhat unique and mine is quite accurate to boot.

Mausers

Gill I happen to have a nice Sporter built on the Arg Mauser. It is a 35 Whelen built by Dale Goens. Beautifully built rifle ..and a shooter. Heavy though. Hope ya get a deer with those guns..both of 'em.
