I am always glad to share loading data. It sounds like you have a Rounball barrel. I would try 75 grains of 3F and .015 patches. If your .018 works ok, stick with that and try 75 grains since you already tried 80 and 85 grain charges. I use 3F in two of my .54 guns while another likes 75 grains of 2F and patched ball. I had to throttle her back a little. 80 and 85 grains of 3F was tear'n the patch up pretty bad. 70 Grains gave me a perfect burn according to the recovered patch and the accuracy was a nice large cloverleaf group at 50. I was hoping to get good performance with full power loads, you never know when one of us crazy front loaders may pack one of these things for Bear ![]() ![]()
