I live about 60 mile due south of Nashville. Yesterday we got 6 inches of snow in 3 hours. I was at work when it started snowing. Finished what I was working on and left. Took just over 2 hours to make the 35 minute drive home. Many cars in ditches. Many more that should have been by the way they drive in snow and ice.
Got a lot of ice during the night, could walk on snow and not break through. (215 lbs) I dont like this kind of weather at all. Middle Tenn does a good job on the roads but I prefer to stay home if possible. My daughter leaves early in the morning for Camp Shelby Mississippi to see her husband before he leaves for Iraq. If she can get to Alabama she should have an easy drive. |

In early January, we here in north Florida saw temps as low as fourteen degrees. Not our coldest - I recall riding my MC to school in the early 70's in 11 degrees.
Still riding, into work now. Better dressed for it though - not a problem! As long as we don't have that funky cold white stuff, I am happy. ![]() Temps are much milder now - only in the forties last weekend when deer hunting with a buddy. |

We got about 14 inches (or more) to the northeast of you in Richmond, Va and, when you factored in the wind chll. the temperature felt like it was in the single digits.
