MtnMike2, We had a very few around here before the big transplant into Yellowstone, but they were very secretive and didn't seem to cause problems. We get a few Yellowstone strays around here now and then and they usually get into trouble, killing cattle, sheep, and dogs. Breeding season is coming on and there will be more strays out and about. The government trappers have gone to 6mm rifles instead of the .22-250 most of them used on coyotes.

Larry - these new ones might get bold as they get used to the area. And although they might be bigger and badder than the old natives, they're probably still mistaken for coyotes or big dogs at a distance sometimes....
![]() I haven't shot a 6mm but understand that they can be extremely accurate. Same w/ 6.5 mm. Might have to buy a new barrel for my Encore. Mike |
