many of today's hunting products, especially clothing, are just fashion statements..."lookit me...I'm a hunter...i wear camo clothing..."

like many others here, i still have gear i purchased forty years ago and it still works just fine.

quality costs...it's that simple. if you purchase a quality piece of equipment, it should last.

model8..like said just wear good warm clothes if winter and invest in cheap orange vest/hat etc and will work..same thing use if playing in snow or skiing etc..When I first started hunting with my dad, we didn't have all this fancy LLBean stuff..I use to look like a clown with all the red rags pinned to my clothes..never forget but dad got me out...how about you lending her your gun and you just tag along and enjoy the day while watching her hunt?...can be win/win that way..even though my daughters have all the equipment they need, I still leave my rifle/bow home and just tag along with them during their hunts if they ask me to go..is better time than hunting myself...I have learned lesson of lending firearms ONCE..never again..people just dont seem to take care of them as you would...can see your point though..she gave but now time for them and not want to help her..maybe they don't trust the company she may be going with and figure she borrow gun, let someone else use?..not a slam against anyone because don't know them but food for thought..have heard of it happening...get her out and enjoy the day...let her use your equip.
