Getting range time to shoot
Our gun club has 4,500 members and lots of activities every weekend. It has come to the point that folks wanting to shoot military surplus or any arms are blocked out on most weekends. Our gun club president is a lady and she has taken the bull by the horns. She set up a sub-committee (I am on it) and evaluated making the ranges more available to members. Her answer is simple and effective, reduce the number of events and open the ranges up to the membership on weekends. My high power rifle shoots are unaffected because we shoot and git in a few hours. Looks like I will have more time to shoot the old military war horses. All the best...

Starting this time of year you have to wait to get a bench. We are private so its only member but still its a problem. I try to go during the week and have the place to myself.

Gil,
My old club in NH had 2,200 members and a waiting list for new members. We had 7 trap fields, 3 skeet fields, 2 pistol ranges and 3 rifle ranges on 165 acres. Our policy was on weekends one of each ranges was open for club members while the other ranges ran events. Hope this helps. Adam
