Post Offical weigh in (IE my weightloss)

My weigh in this morning was 300.8 lbs. That is 29 pounds even that I have lost in two months. I am now officially the smallest I have been in 10 years, at my heaviest I was over 400 lbs. I encourage any of our members who have weight issues be it a pound or hundreds of pounds to get with the program and get healthy. I am using the livestrong app on my ipad, and it has kept me going. In 9/10ths of a pound I will be under 300 for the first time in 14 years. My health is drastically better, my blood pressure is down so far that the doctor says if it remains at this level he is going to take me off of bp meds, and life is good. My next goal, a reasonable goal btw, is to reach under 250lbs by May 1st 2011 (Texas spring squirrel season) As I am averaging just over 2 pounds a week weight loss This is, or should be, an easily achievable goal.

I am not eating radically, and in fact I have not gone on a "diet", but I have permanently changed the way I eat. I can eat anything I want, just not as much as I may want of it. I limit myself to no more than 2000 calories a day during my weight loss cycle (which should last me another year or so), but my target calories are 1200-1600 a day. Yes I have a minimum of 1200 calories a day so that my body doesn't think I am starving. At the end of my cycle when I am satisfied that I am at a good weight, and in good health I will reevaluate what it takes to maintain my weight in calories. I have not noticeably increased my exercise yet, but I will be when I drop under 300 at the end of this week. My goal is to also be able to run a 5k by May of next year. So I will start interval training towards that goal this coming weekend, I will start easy and light to avoid injury. I allow myself 1 cheat day a week. Only 1. On that day I can eat ANYTHING I want and AS MUCH as I want of it. The last three weeks my cheat day of eating anything and everything I want hasn't gone over 2000 calories, despite the fact that I don't limit myself. I have found that there are things that make me feel bad when I eat them, so I don't eat them anymore, and I stop eating when I am satisfied, not when I am full.

I value each and everything member of Huntchat, and many of you I really consider friends of mine. Please PLEASE start today, don't put it off another single day. I know there are a bunch of you who are already in good shape, and for that be grateful. For the rest of us, I will Pray for you, just like I do for myself.

Way to go. I have lost 20 just eating less and staying away from sugar (Texas Champange premixed-aka Ice Tea). Sound like I'm doing the same as you. Although I see no difference yet but will. I need to loose about another 30 and I will be at my playing weight.

Thumbs up

Good for you, GOB, that's great news, and congratulations on your program. It is encouraging to me to see that you're working hard at losing weight, and that you're doing so well at it. I too need to lose some weight. Over the years I have lost, gained, lost again, and so on, but lately I've been going the wrong direction, and need to get back on track.

Thanks for your post. Keep up the good work, and I hope to share some of my success sometime too.

GOB.. start the C25K program. It is a program to get you from the couch to a 5k run in 9 weeks. It starts you slow with a short run & longer walk. It progressivily gets longer runs with shorter walks until you get to a full 5k run.. I did the program this past year. I hurt myself with my first 5k race, and am getting back to running again. here is a link on the program.

Feel free to ask me any questions..

Oh make sure to get proper shoes that fit you & work the way you run, makes a big difference.

Great job GOB, slow & easy is a good way to go. Never start a "diet" that you can't live on the rest of your life. I think your first step to success was wanting to succeed. It's good to get results & I'm Glad you're feeling better too.

Thanks guys I appreciate it, toxic at the end of the week I should have broken the 300 mark, at that time that is the program I have approved with my doctor to start working on. I am looking forward to it.

buckhunter I have cut out the white sugar myself, I also don't eat anything made with white flour if I have a choice. All sugar-in-the raw, or wheat flour if I use anything.

Adam, thanks brother, I love this website, and the folks here, and intend to stick with it as long as it lasts.

My father, My grandfather, and three of my uncles have all had heart attacks and/or heart surgery. My sincere hope is that I never have to go under the knife. There are more important things in life than cheetos, and cokes. And I hope to enjoy them for at least another hundred years if the good Lord let's me stay on this old earth that long.

Wow a little exercise yesterday afternoon, and this mornings weigh in (I checked it multiple times) was 299.0 The first time in a long long time that number has had a 2 at the beginning.

It's good to be alive.

It was biggie for me when I hit 299, then 289, and now bumping 280. Its a slow process and sometimes I fall off the wagon like last night 6 slices of pizza. That has to happen but not often. Keep going bud you are doing just fine.
