Tomorrow is opening day in Michigan

Good luck to all the Michigan hunters, and to everyone else whenever your season starts. I will be out in the morning with my father, my best friend and his son. Unfortunately my son couldn't make it this year, school tests (and they come first)

another bust

hit the state land by me in Gladwin (gets pounded due to easy access)

Once again found an illegal blind with screw in steps right where I was hoping to sit. At least THIS one didnt have a huge pile of corn in front of it.

Went out yesterday to one of the few spots without an orange coat in sight. Nice morning in the woods till a couple of dogs came running through. Threw in the towel and went to the Eagles club for a few cold ones and a turkey dinner.

cant wait for ML season and some SNOW

Got a few in the UP before Thanksgiving. Deer sightings were not at usual numbers though...

Yep, them and the coyotes. We've been seeing a TON of coyotes up there the last few years. Fawn numbers seemed to be down quite a bit.

I had my first perfect season since I started hunting deer in 1957.

Never saw a single deer during the 10 days of the season that I hunted on my property.

In a couple more years the DNR will have all the deer shot off in Oceana county.
