Smile The bug is back.

Well I have acquired a old Bear Kodiak recurve 60" AMO 45# RH bow again. I ordered the supplies yesterday from three rivers so I can make me a new Flemish string for it. Currently it has a generic black fast flight on it that is unraveling fast. Draw on it feels like it is alot more than 45#, but that could just be because it has been setting up for years. I started out pulling it to about a quarter draw, then to about half draw etc. Did this over and over for thirty minutes or so, the bow is solid, but I have a dickens of a time getting it to full draw. Gotta build my muscles back up

I'm starting to like my bow hunting as much as gun hunting. Currently checking out Matthews for a upgrade. Wow sticker shock.

Well I got my string making material in yesterday (IE we forgot to check the mailbox Saturday) So hopefully I will be on making my new string this week. Hard to believe that that tiny box o stuff cost me $50 and change. But I have enough material to make a couple dozen strings now.

Well I tested my new string today, and the Flemish twist Dacron shoots so much better than fast flight it isn't even funny.

Talking

I finally downloaded the original pics from my cellphone for the string, I appologize for the quality they were taken at night in my living room. The serving has also been redone since the pics were taken.
