Not an AR, but not bad

Back in the Nineties, I bought an AR180B. Armalite, with a polymer lower, stamped steel upper. Piston driven, not direct impingement like an AR.
I took the carbine to the range the other day, and was, as always, pleased with the results.

I would of loved to see a video of your "target practice"! What range is that?

8X56MS,

Nice photos of a nice gun. I like the 180, but never bought one. I prefer piston-driven gas guns. In the 1990s, I was able to buy a few New Chinese SKS arms with all the accessories for $85 each. I sorted out the best shooters, traded the culls and now reload for the SKS, both Chinese and Russian.

I may get a .223 someday, but there is no rush. I like heavier bullets in my "Scout" arms. I do have a .222 that is quite accurate, so the smaller bores are currently covered.

You are correct: "Not an AR, but not bad." Many rifles will fill that bill including the SKS, Garand, Hakim, FN ABL and Tokarev. In my opinion, all are better than the AR.

Adam

I shot a Korean Daewoo one time and fell in lust with the gun. Never could swing the money. Interesting combo of an M16/AR15 lower with an AK upper. I had a Mini-14 and an AR15 back then and that Daewoo outshot both guns by a huge margin. I've heard though that if you break any parts, it's rough to get replacements. Not good. Darn nice guns though.
