i think a 2506 in a #1 would go along side a 270 very well. and rthe 25 in my opion with 115 triple shocks would be good moose medicine with a well placed shot.
or maybe 3006 in a lightweight #1 to bad the #1ab is only chramberd in 204 |

Well, I made the plunge and ordered a T/C Pro Hunter with a thumb hole stock in .270. Can't wait for it to show up so that I can begin to work up some loads for it. I've never had a brand new gun before. Is there a proper pocedure for breaking in the barrel?

Scalerman.. I think you are going to like that Pro Hunter. I have an encore in 30-06 with a 204 bbl 25-06 218 Bee 7MMMag and a 460 S&W pistol bbl. That thing really does shoot well. I'm just now working with the 204 Ruger cartridge so don't have a good handle on the caliber but the rifle is great. I have a couple of stocks for it but I think you did the best with the thumbhole.. Makes it eaier to shoot. Luck with it my friend. I think that the 270 is my favorite caliber..well that and any 25 caliber..specially my 257 AI

Thanks. As I said I can't wait to shoot it. I have heard nothing but good about these things. I have loved the #1 and am sorry to set it aside. I hope I like the thumb-hole stock. I have fondled a few of them but never shot one.
