Heck all firearms have some kind of faults..including the mauser..and it's derivatives..such as the 03 Springfield..But does that mean they are not good serviceable firearms?? No of course not..Even my beloved pre 64 Win 70s had a fault or two..and they were a derivative of the Mauser too. I actually have a Mauser or two...and a couple of 03s...but the Mausers have been made into useful rifles and the one 03 is an A4..and I won't do anything with it...The other 03 was also made into a useful rifle. One day I will find an original scope for the A4. The 1909 Argentine Mauser is a 35 Whelen..and a pretty rifle. Accurate too.

I don't read many magazines any more..just another advertising gimmick for the manufacturers. Everything they make is great..according to the authors
